To all the Pioneers

I received an amazing gift this morning.
It was a gift from the Lord through  my friend Cathy Oakley who lives in England.
She sent a simple email.  This email said simply: was listening to
this last night and thought of you.  XXX Take a look at this:

.p://youtu.be/sd7a-AYqUKI    This
is the link to a YouTube video of a song by Rick Pino, called Pioneer.
The first gift was the surprise that in her busy world, God put her on my
heart.  The second is the words to the song the link brings up.  Please read through the words, let them speak
to your heart.

Chorus]

Pioneer, pioneer
Keep pressing onward beyond your fear
Only the Father goes before you to your own
frontier
Youʼre
a pioneer

[Verse 1]
Uncharted wilderness stretches before you
And you thrive on going where no one has gone
Still it gets lonely when darkness rears
So sing by the fire until the dawn

[Chorus]
Pioneer, pioneer
Keep pressing onward beyond your fear
Only the Father goes before you to your own
frontier
Youʼre
a pioneer

[Verse 2]
You travel light, and you travel alone
And when you arrive nobody knows
But the Father in heaven, He is glad you can go,
For those who come after you will need the road

[Chorus]
Pioneer, pioneer
Keep pressing onward beyond your fear
Only the Father goes before you to your own
frontier
Youʼre
a pioneer

[Verse 3]
And what you have done, others will do
Bigger and better and faster than you
But you canʼt look back; no, you gotta keep pressing
through
Thereʼs
a wilderness pathway and itʼs
calling you

[Chorus]
Calling you, calling you clear
Keep pressing onward, you can't stay here...
Only the Father goes before you to your own
frontier
Youʼre
a pioneer

Only the Father goes before you to your own
frontier
Youʼre
a pioneer

I am not familiar with the artist or this song.   Pioneers are people who are among those who first enter or settle a region, thus opening it for
occupation and development by others.  The first time I heard this song I thought of
Darryl.  He would have loved it.  He had a pioneering spirit.  He did not choose to be a settler.  He did not want to settle into a routine
faith, a routine walk or a routine life, satisfied with the status quo.  There is a stirring in many hearts for
intertwining our faith with our “regular” life that makes a difference in every
place in our world.  Not that we are too
heavenly minded for earthly good, but that we are so heavenly minded we ARE
earthly good.    This is not always easy.

I can only imagine people like Lewis and Clark who helped
pioneer into our western United States wondered how long, how difficult their
journey would be.  Maybe they battled
discouragement, sickness and hopelessness.
But we know they did not stop.  If
God has given you a vision to accomplish press on my friend do not quit.  Take a break if you must, but know your part
of God’s Kingdom is vital and needs to be fulfilled.

There was a season in Darryl's healing where the Holy Spirit
warned me that I wouldn't be seeing the major forward steps we had been seeing.
We were about to enter the wilderness, with not many markers before us.
However, His Spirit encouraged me to just trust that we would be making
progress.  Sometimes it is like that in our walk with Him.  We just keep following His lead, one step at
a time, making progress.

In many ways, I believe every believer is called to be a pioneer.  To grow in their faith, to fulfill His
calling and purpose is to go into the uncharted waters of trust and reliance on
the leading of the Holy Spirit.  The encouraging
thing is the author and finisher of our faith is walking right alongside of us.  He is there to comfort, to lead and to
guide.  He is there to bring us back to
the narrow path if we wander off.  How
comforting!  Let us press on to our high
calling which we are called in Christ Jesus (Philippians 3:14 paraphrased).

I believe every parent is a pioneer.  They are walking in
uncharted waters with each child.  Helping that child grow and develop
into their God-given calling and dreams.  Parents often struggle with fear
in raising their children, but I would encourage you to keep pressing beyond
your fear and raise your children with love, grace and boundaries.  Our
Heavenly Father created you to be the specific parent to each of your children.
You can do this.  This child is
following you down your road, so make it clear, make it steady and make it
based on God’s Word.

I believe every business owner or entrepreneur is a pioneer.
You are walking in uncharted waters to create a culture and influence to
not only meet your needs but to touch lives.  Push past your fears and
trust Him to lead and guide you in every leadership decision you need to make.

I believe every minister is a pioneer.  Boldly step out in
faith to claim your inheritance for His kingdom.  Seek Him for wisdom, grace and
creativity.  Let His love equip and
expand your horizon.  He will give you wisdom, He will give you courage,
He will give you everything you need to love those He brings across our paths.  Pioneers think big.  Pioneers don’t let current boundaries prevent
them from accomplishing their dreams.

Stand strong, you pioneers, continue to follow God’s heart.  There are many who will follow after you.
